UNCO[V]ERED: Fergus James

UNCO[V]ERED brings you the world premiere of teenage troubadour Fergus James latest single, ‘What Are We Waiting For’. Catch it for the first time ever on [V] at 12noon this Saturday!

Hailing from the country town of Armidale in New South Wales, Fergus James was accepted into the Talent Development Project at Newtown High School of Performing Arts – one of the country’s leading performing and visual arts schools.

In 2016 Fergus performed for Justin Timberlake, who was blown away and exclaimed, “put that on the radio now!” The video on Timberlake’s Facebook page went on to clock up half a million views. In 2018 Fergus was handpicked by Ed Sheeran to open the Australian leg of his record-breaking Divide Tour, the biggest ever stadium tour in Australian history (selling over one million tickets).

‘What Are You Waiting For’, the latest single from Fergus, is an anthem that acknowledges the fears and doubts we must overcome to move forward in life. It was written in Melbourne with Pip Norman (Troye Sivan, CXLOE) and Mike Waters.

After unloading all my fears and doubts upon Mike and Pip, their combined experiences in life and music provided me with a sense of hope, not that of clarity, but that of “F*** it, music, like life, will go on”. All you can hope for is to enjoy the piece of art that you have put yourself into in the moment, regardless of popularity, money and ‘the crowd’ you wish to fit into,” says Fergus.

With such huge names backing him, it’s little wonder that Fergus‘ new video for ‘What Are We Waiting For’ is our latest UNCO[V]ERED feature.
