It’s been a huge week on the charts for Aussie music as Tones & I holds onto #1 on the Singles chart and new albums from The Teskey Brothers and Northlane debut in the top three.
Ed Sheeran‘s No 6 Collaborations Project holds onto #1 for a fourth straight week with Melbourne’s The Teskey Brothers‘ Run Home Slow placing at #2 and Sydney-formed metalcore outfit Northlane‘s Alien landing at #3.
The Teskey Brothers’ last release, Half Mile Harvest, has also reentered the charts at #27.
Other album debuts this week include Drake‘s Care Package compilation (#7), Holy Holy‘s My Own Pool Of Light (#14), Skillet‘s Victorious (#31) and the Descendants 3 soundtrack (#36).
Tool have also reentered the charts in a massive way following the release of their catalogue on streaming services for the first time ever. Three albums (Ænima, Lateralus and 10,000 Days) landed in the top ten. The release of the albums on streaming platforms racked up over 20 million streams in the first 48 hours of release. The band also released the first taste from their forthcoming record, Fear Inoculum, this week, their first new music since 2006.
Over on the Singles chart, Byron Bay-based Tones & I holds #1 for a second week with Dance Monkey (after becoming the first Australian act to take out #1 on the list in 2019) over Lil Nas X‘s Old Town Road and Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello‘s Señorita.
Debuting tracks that should land in the top 40 this week include Ariana Grande and Social House‘s Boyfriend (#4) and Lauv‘s Fuck, I’m Lonely featuring Anne-Marie (#37).
