Coldplay hint at three-year break

Coldplay are likely to take a lengthy break from touring when they finish their current world tour.

If you weren't among those lucky to see the British band perform in Brisbane on Wednesday then you wouldn't have heard frontman Chris Martin drops hints about a three-year sabbatical.

Wrapping up the Australian leg of their Mylo Xyloto's tour at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, Martin told the 52,000 people at the concert that, "This is the last big show for three years or so," according to Billboard.com.

Earlier in the night Martin thanked the crowd for coming and promised to play their "best f***ing show in our life," according to the music website.

While in Australia the band played a series of concerts in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as well as an exclusive performance for the Seven Networks breakfast TV program Sunrise.

Coldplay is scheduled to perform three more concerts before the end of the year, including a New Year's Eve bow at Brooklyn's Barclays Center with Jay-Z.
