5 Seconds of Summer win [V] Oz Artist of the Year
The title of Australia's favourite homegrown act belongs to 5 Seconds of Summer, with the Sydney pop rockers being voted Channel [V]'s Oz Artist of the Year for 2013.
5 Seconds of Summer are now the first act to be named [V] Oz Artist of the Year after being voted into the Top 50 as the Wild Card - and they have their legion of fans to thank.
Falling at the final were hurdle were Top 4 contenders Flume, Birds of Tokyo and Delta Goodrem, who all celebrated their own successes 2013, but whose fans just couldn't match the voting power of the 5SOS Family.
Hailing from Sydney, this 5 Seconds of Summer have had a massive year, which included being handpicked by none other than One Direction to support them on their world tour. With two EPs under their belt and a huge online following, these guys just keep going from strength to strength.
So there you have it, after more than one million votes were cast, 5 Seconds of Summer are the new [V] Oz Artist of the Year.
