What is the most played song on your iPod?
'The Prayer' by Bloc Party... "Lord give me grace and dancing feet..."
What is the best strategy for finding a toilet at Big Day Out that doesn't involve queuing for 2 hours?
Breaking into an artist's dressing room and using theirs. I don't condone this behaviour, of course, but it's worked for me in past years.
Best live music venue in Oz?
I love The Enmore Theatre in Sydney and The Tote in Melbourne. Both are very different but have great features that make the live experience fantastic. The Enmore has hosted so many of my favourite artists and The Tote is just one of the best "sticky carpet" dives in the country. I used to play there in my own band when I was a teen.
Worst gig you've had the misfortune of sitting through?
There's been so many. One that springs to mind is a very early gig from The Temper Trap. They were very young and didn't have their live show sorted at that point. I was bored out of my brain and walked out after a few songs. Sorry!
If you could ban one song from Channel [V] what would it be?
Christina Perri's 'Jar Of Hearts'. I fucking can't stand that song.
Dance floor or seated?
Seated on the dance floor. Best of both worlds.
Three artists (dead* or alive) you'd bring on a road trip from Sydney to Perth? *The dead ones can't do driving shifts.
Amy Winehouse because I reckon she would've been a good laugh to have on any long journey, Sid Vicious because he'd tell amazing stories of the glory days of punk rock and Sam Fogarino (Interpol drummer), just so I'd have some eye candy for the journey (and he could take over driving duties when I'm hyperventilating over his smouldering blue eyes... aaaaah).
All time greatest movie soundtrack?
The Valley Girl Soundtrack. This was one of Nicolas Cage's first ever movie roles and I implore you all to go watch it. While the soundtrack now may sound a little dated (it's from the '80s), the songs such as Modern English's indie love song 'Melt With You' and Spark's 'Eaten By The Monster of Love' still stand up.
It's time to scorch a hole in the dance floor when I hear...
Guns N' Roses - 'Paradise City'.
What is your most embarrassing moment as a presenter?
Getting my pash on with Ke$ha at Future Music Festival in February 2011. Considering I could have caught some kind of lurgie from her, watching the footage now just makes me squirm!
One album that every human on the face of the planet should be sat down and forced to listen to at least once in their life?
The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses (1989). This is consistently voted for by musicians and pundits as the Greatest British album of all time and it definitely changed my life and how I listened to music when it came out. I wouldn't just sit you down and force you to listen to it. I'd tie you up and leave the album on repeat for 12 hours in a small room.
NASA asks you to pick one song to be beamed into outer space as a message from the human race to alien life forms - what do you pick? No pressure.
Has to be The Beatles Across the Universe - give my love to the aliens!
Who's old stuff do you like better than their new stuff?
You Am I. After Hourly Daily it all went down hill for me and my love for the band.
I regret the period of my life when I was heaps into...
Actually, I have no musical regrets whatsoever. Fashion regrets however are another story...
If I started a band we would be called __________ and we would play __________?
Well, I did start a band. I won't tell you what we were called, but let's just say we got played on the radio lots and we released 2 EPs. I was the lead singer. That's all you need to know!
